‘Disgusting’: Man washes his bum in kids’ pool

A man has been filmed giving himself a very deep clean in a children’s pool in front of disgusted onlookers.

A man has been filmed giving himself a very deep clean in a children’s pool in New Zealand in front of bemused onlookers.

The video of the “disgusting” act went viral on social media, with one million views after being shared on Facebook by user “Luminis DaGawd” earlier this week.

The man, wearing grey swimmers, is seen bending over and lathering himself up with soap in the knee-high water as children splash around metres away.

“What the … he’s got soap, aye,” a man is heard saying. “Bro, it’s not a bath.”

The man then turns his attention to his rear end, giving his bum a deep, vigorous scrub.

“Oi, he’s washing his f**king a**,” the man says.

A woman exclaims, “Oh, stop it!”

“What the f**k?” the man says. “For f**k’s sake. Alright, kids, get out of the pool.”

It wasn’t immediately clear when the incident took place, but it appears to have been filmed at the Memorial Park pool in Palmerston North, on New Zealand’s North Island.

The clip has attracted thousands of comments.

“This is how I got severely sick in 2021, I was in a spa pool and this guy thought it was a great idea to have to bath in the spa,” one woman wrote.

“Within two days I was severely sick with shakes, vomiting, hospital told me I had a infection in the blood, asked me where I [had] been.”

Another person wrote, “This is my fav [pool] to take my kids … why is no one saying anything?”

“What’s wrong [with] this guy? No common sense and clearly no running water at home,” a third said.

But some users defended the man.

“What’s wrong?” one woman asked.

“I mean isn’t it normal to shower/wash with soap etc. after a swim anyway? It’s OK for kids with stink a***s to swim in a chlorinated pool but not OK for a man to clean himself after a swim? I’ve heard children laugh about taking a p**s in the same pool I watched another child drink from. Who’s really the yuck one? The ones who bring their kids here unknowing what happens in those waters or the one who uses soap in a pool with chemicals that’ll kill germs anyway?”

Some claimed the man was known to be “mentally unwell”.

“Instead of people saying something and getting him out of the pool people film and laugh and share the video around,” one said.

“I agree the behaviour is [disgusting] but I also would have spoken up in the moment not plastered it everywhere.”

Another said, “I agree he shouldn’t be videoed and made fun of, if he’s doing things like this clearly he needs support that is sad he’s not getting help.”

A third added, “It makes me mad no one said anything. That’s so disgusting, why around the kids! Even if he’s mentally unwell someone step up and do something. Whole pool of people and no one there in that video stood up and told him to stop!”

Palmerston North City Council has been contacted for comment.
