This week, I’ve found you a new breakfast cafe… well - sort of!
The 1995 on Cavenagh Street, home of Hospitality NT’s Best Barista for 2023, has been known as a funky arcade stopover for good pastries and great coffee since it opened last year.
On a recent visit, I was very excited to discover a menu on the counter - they’ve expanded the team and are now doing a small but DELICIOUS selection of food!
Next time you’re in the city, pop into The 1995 on the Cavenagh St corner of the Air Raid Arcade, and try their Tuna Sashimi on Sourdough, Smashed Avo, or Pesto Chicken open sandwich!
WHAT’S ON THIS WEEKEND?
It’s the second weekend in December which generally means Christmas Parties, so I am continuing the theme this week!
Today you can round out your Christmas Shopping by popping into the Craft Beer Craft Fair from midday at One Mile Brewery, or head down to Leanyer for ‘Carols at The Waterpark’ at 5.30pm.
There’s another chance to shop local for Christmas at the Botanicool Craft Fair in Stuart Park on Sunday from 9am.
If you haven’t seen it yet - make a night of it down at the Darwin Waterfront on Sunday - see Santa out on Stokes Hill Wharf at 5.30pm and stay for their Liquid Light show.
Think huge water fountains dancing to music, with spectacular light projections - it’s really cool.
It will change to a brand-new show next week, so this is your last weekend to see the current ‘Saltwater Spectacular’ - nightly at 7.30pm, 8pm and 8.30 pm in the Waterfront lagoon.
HOT TIP
It’s Christmas party season, which means plenty of platter food, and of course,
Christmas Ham.
A hot new local grocer has recently opened between Cullen Bay and the CBD - at the end of Mitchell St in Larrakeyah.
A stylish cafe popular for its cinnamon scrolls and yiros lunch special - The General has recently activated the space next door into a market.
They sell fresh produce, deli meats, cheeses, pâtés, confectionary, and even traditional Greek and Italian food - everything you need for your upcoming Christmas Party platter.
Pop in and check it out from 8am - 4pm today, or 7.30am - 5.30pm weekdays.
