A woman who died alongside her dog after a fiery crash involving a bus and a car has been remembered as “the best partner and friend”.

A woman who died after a fiery crash involving a bus and a car has been remembered as “the best partner and friend”.

Emergency crews were called after reports a white Hyundai i30 hatchback had collided with a Transperth bus on Warwick Rd in Warwick, in Perth’s northern suburbs, about 8am on Monday.

The car, driven by Karina Abel, then caught on fire following the crash, which was about 20m west of Lloyd Drive.

Paramedics treated Ms Abel, 50, at the scene before she was taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, where she died a short time later.

Ms Abel was driving with her three dogs when the crash occurred.

One dog was killed in the crash, while the other two dogs were later found by council rangers after running from the scene.

It’s understood Ms Abel was going to visit her elderly mother when the crash occurred.

Ms Abel’s family have shared their heartache online after her death.

Her stepdaughter Tahlia Oreo shared a touching tribute online for the woman who recently became engaged to her father, Brad Oreo.

“Life isn’t fair. This doesn’t seem real,” Ms Oreo wrote.

“No words comprehend the way I’m feeling.

“Thank you for loving my dad the way you did.

“I am forever grateful he was able to experience it. I hope you’re dancing up there and enjoying the wedding you never got to see.

“I got dad from here on out. I promise you.

“Rest in paradise. Will forever be missing you.”

Mr Oreo said Ms Abel was “the best partner and friend”.

The 48-year-old female driver of the bus and the passengers on-board were not injured.

It is understood the bus was carrying mostly school-aged children.

Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are investigating the incident.
