Chaotic scenes have erupted in Melbourne’s north after police were forced to deploy tasers to bring down a knife-wielding man behaving erratically on Monday evening.
Footage of the incident shows several officers and police vehicles converging on a man — wearing a black jacket and pants — at a car park off Motto Dr in Coolaroo.

The man, walking with an eerie calm amid the chaos, can be seen holding what appears to be a knife in his hand.
Police can be seen surrounding the man and ordering him to “drop the knife” and “get on the ground” with at least one officer pointing his taser at the individual.
A Victoria Police spokesman said officers had initially been called to reports of a man armed with a knife and behaving erratically outside a youth centre just before 6pm.
“Police arrived and attempted to intercept a white Toyota SUV in a car park before the driver got out of the vehicle wielding a knife,” they said.
“A taser was deployed and the man was arrested.”
In the footage shared to social media, tasers can be heard deploying several times before the man eventually falls to the ground.
A shopping trolley can be seen hurtling towards him before officers are able to swoop in and apprehend him.
An onlooker can be seen joining the fray, kicking the man as police pounce on him, with officers telling him to “move” back.
Another onlooker can be seen holding the knife as police struggled to bring the alleged offender under control.
Police confirmed a 43-year-old Craigieburn man has since been taken to a police station to be interviewed.
Arif Mohammad was working at nearby Sufra Mandi Restaurant & Banquet Hall when the man was arrested by police in the car park.
“I was inside my restaurant, when I heard something was going on outside,” Mr Mohammad told the Herald Sun.
“I saw some of the policemen rushing towards him, I just saw the policeman catch him, put him inside his car and they went away.
“It was very shocking. I was very surprised by this.”
Another worker at the complex, who asked not to be named, was shocked to hear about the incident after finishing his shift.
“I’m happy that the cops got there in time,” he said.
The arrest comes just 24 hours after a 17-year-old boy was hospitalised following an alleged stabbing just 5km south in Broadmeadows.
