A luxury nail salon has been rammed with a ute bearing a crude message in the latest in a series of targeted attacks.
La La Nail Co. in Essendon North was hit by a third ram raid in less than three months about 3.30am on Friday.
A black ute with the words “Pay Ur Tick You Fat Dog,” reversed through the shopfront causing significant damage.
The offenders fled on foot leaving the vehicle at the scene.
No one was inside the salon at the time.
The “heartbroken” owners of the luxury nail salon took to Instagram to provide a statement on the attack.
“It is with great sadness and frustration that we share the news of yet another targeted attack on our salon,” they said.
“The continued damage to our premises, our reputation, and most importantly, the safety of those around us — including residents that live in the building — has left us devastated.
“We are three months into this situation, and the impact on our wellbeing and mental health is significant.
“We are now faced with the difficult question of whether we can continue.
“Heartbroken, we are so sorry.”
The utility vehicle used in the ramming was stolen from an address in Riddells Creek on Thursday.
A police spokeswoman said: “Detectives are working to establish the circumstances of the incident, which is believed to be targeted.”
“Investigations are also ongoing into whether this is linked to two other incidents at the same location.”
Nail technician Sam, who works at the Keilor Rd site, said the business had received little information from police.
“I couldn’t imagine doing this to anybody, let alone three times,” a note posted online said.
“How many times can a person be knocked down?
“These people are just pure evil.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident, has footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or file a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
