Worongary truck crash: Driver’s miracle escape after horror rollover
A man is thanking his lucky stars after walking away with only minor injuries from a crash that obliterated his truck.

A truck driver has had a miracle escape after a horror hinterland crash that saw his vehicle torn to shreds.
Debris littered the road after the man’s truck rolled and smashed into trees at The Panorama and Worongary Road at 9.19am on Saturday morning.
Despite the damage, the man was able to get out of the vehicle by himself.
Remarkably, he only picked up a minor hand injury in the accident, with Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics taking him to Gold Coast University Hospital to get it seen to.
The accident was one of a number of serious traffic accidents to take place on the Gold Coast in the last 24 hours.
On Friday night, a woman in her thirties was hit by a car when she was crossing the road along Old Burleigh Road at Wharf Street in Surfers Paradise.
The woman was taken to hospital in a stable condition with non life-threatening injuries.
A Queensland Police spokesperson said the driver of the vehicle that struck her was a man in his seventies, who was “assisting police” with their inquiries into the incident.
Also on Friday night, police attended a single vehicle crash along Southport Nerang Road in Ashmore at 11.10pm.
A police spokesperson said nobody was at the scene when they attended and as of Saturday morning they were yet to make contact with the driver. However there were no reports that the vehicle had been stolen.
A motorcyclist, meanwhile, was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition after crashing at Tomewin Mountain Road in the Currumbin Valley at 1.03pm on Saturday.
