M1 Oxenford crash: Pacific Pines woman in critical condition at Gold Coast University Hospital
Police are investigating the circumstances around a horrific M1 crash that has left an 18-year-old woman fighting for her life in hospital.

An 18-year-old woman is in critical condition in hospital after a horrific accident on the M1 on the northern Gold Coast.
Emergency services were called after the woman’s motorbike collided with a car on the motorway near Oxenford at around 5.30pm on Sunday.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the Pacific Pines woman was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with serious injuries.
In a statement on Sunday night, a Queensland Police spokesperson said the woman was in a critical condition.

“A woman remains in a critical condition in hospital after a serious crash in Oxenford this afternoon,” the spokesperson said.
“Preliminary inquiries indicate that at 5.30pm a motorcycle was headed north on the Pacific Motorway when it collided with a car heading in the same direction.
“The rider of the motorcycle, an 18-year-old Pacific Pines woman, remains in the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
“Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.”
Two northbound lanes of the motorway were closed by police for a number of hours as they investigated the accident, which took place near Exit 57.
