Heavy traffic congestion has clogged one of the Gold Coast’s busiest arterial roads out of Surfers Paradise after a collision between a cyclist and a car.

Traffic on Bundall Road and Chevron Island slowed to a crawl after the collision, which occurred at the intersection of Slayer Ave at 2.40pm.

It occurred just after the final displays of the Pacific Airshow as crowds began to exit Surfers Paradise.

The woman who was on the bicycle was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
