Tram crash: Car hits Gold Coast tram in Surfers Paradise

A car has collided with a tram in Surfers Paradise with emergency services rushing to the scene to assess an injured man.

A vehicle has collided with a tram in Surfers Paradise with emergency services rushing to the scene to assess a man with cuts.

Paramedics were called to Surfers Paradise Boulevard about 2pm.

Four crews were on scene, including two bike paramedics.

It is understood a man was injured with cuts to his arm.

A spokesman for GoldlinQ said the crash happened close to the Golden Gate hotel and there were some residual minor delays for one or two services.

“The rest of the system continues as usual,” he said.

The damaged tram will be taken back to the depot to be inspected and another tram swapped out.
