One-year-old toddler hit by a car in Burleigh Waters

A BABY girl had been rushed to hospital in a critical condition with life threatening injuries after being run over at Burleigh Waters.

A BABY girl had been rushed to hospital in a critical condition with life threatening injuries after being run over at Burleigh Waters.

Police said the 17 month old child was run over as a car was backing out of a driveway at about 4.10pm today.

Both the child’s parents were home at the time.

Senior Sargent Angelique Maloney said it is still under investigation who was driving the car.

“Both parents are very distraught and are proceeding with police to the Gold Coast (University) Hospital,” she said.

Police forensic crash and child protection units are now investigating

Police have closed off the street to traffic.
