Man hospitalised after car slams into pole in Currumbin Waters

UPDATE: A CAR has crashed into a light pole just outside the Emergency Department in Southport.

Paramedics and a fire crew was called to the scene of the single vehicle crash on Hospital Blv at about 12.50pm.

It’s understood that a woman was in the car but no one was transported the short distance to hospital.

A QFRS spokesman said there was a small amount of oil on the road after the crash so a crew made the scene safe.

Earlier at 12.10pm a vehicle crashed into a power pole near the corner of Alec Ave and Driver Crt in Mermaid Waters.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a female was assessed as stable at the scene.

EARLIER: A male driver was taken to hospital last night after suffering from a suspected medical condition behind the wheel at Mt Nathan.

Paramedics were called to Beaudesert Nerang Rd at about 10pm following the single vehicle crash.

The Mitsubishi Outlander was travelling south west when the driver lost control of the vehicle on a bend and ended up in a ditch.

A 25-year-old male driver was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Firies had to remove the driver’s door to get him out of the vehicle.

Meanwhile a young man was also taken to hospital after a single vehicle crash in Currumbin Waters last night.

The car crashed into a pole on Ware Drive at about 8.30pm.

The young adult male was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with neck, chest and back pain.
