Head on crash causes traffic delays along Gold Coast bridge at Paradise Point

A head on crash on a popular Gold Coast bridge is causing delays for night-time commuters, just hours after the M1 was heavily delayed due to two crashes in quick succession.

A HEAD on crash on a popular Gold Coast bridge is causing delays for night-time commuters.

Just before 6.30pm emergency services received reports of a head-on crash on the bridge between Jabiru Island and Paradise Point on Oxley Drive.

Two utes collided head on.

There are no reported injuries.

However, traffic is slow with one lane closed while the utes are removed.

EARLIER:

TRAFFIC is backed up for kilometres after two car crashes along the Gold Coast M1.

At 3.05pm, two cars were reported as having crashed on the Nerang Broadbeach Road offramp, Nerang, southbound.

Ten minutes later, another crash between a small truck and SUV occurred on the Nerang Bridge.

Two fire crews were on scene and evaluated both incident, helping to move to vehicles to the side.

Traffic is backed up for more than 10 kilometres.

Paramedics are assessing one patient with neck pain.

Earlier, a car on fire along the M1 also brought traffic to a standstill at Ormeau.

The incident happened around 10.50am, with fire crews putting the fire out within five minutes.

Finally, a person has been left with shoulder injuries after a vehicle rolled following a crash at Tamborine.

Emergency services were called to the back of the mountain on the corner of Mundoolun Connection and Beaudesert Beenleigh Road about 2.20pm.

It is understood two cars collided on the corner, causing one to rollover.

Critical care paramedics were on scene.

A man has been transported to Logan Hospital in a stable condition with shoulder injuries.

Another person involved in the car has been transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition. Their injuries are unknown.
