Light rail stations closed as G:Link conducts maintenance work

COMMUTERS may need to allow more time to get home tonight with changes planned to light rail services through Surfers Paradise.
Cavill Avenue station will be unavailable from 8pm onwards as crews conduct maintenance work on the platform.
Services will continue to travel through the station, but passengers wanting to get on or off at Cavill Ave will need to swap to replacement buses at Cypress Avenue and Surfers Paradise.

Southport light rail station will also experience closures this week, with maintenance work planned for Wednesday and Thursday from 8pm.
Buses will be running from Southport South and Nerang Street to shuttle passengers.
G:Link began maintenance on Gold Coast stations in September, with Cavill Avenue and Southport the final two to undergo works.
A G:Link spokesman said works had run smoothly so far, and thanked commuters for their co-operation.
