TRADIE Reuben Budd says the traffic on the M1 is so bad he always takes the train home from Brisbane to Coomera after work.

“Going home in the car is annoying,” he said.

THE M1 TRADIE RUSH STARTS AT 4AM

“The traffic is getting worse and worse. I can leave on the train half an hour later (than my colleagues who drive) and still beat them home.”

Mr Budd said the evening bolt home is unpredictable and can take an hour to get from Brisbane to the northern suburbs — or two.

And while he believes the early morning trip to Brisbane is better than the evening rush, he and his colleagues who he carpools with, still factor in extra time just in case.

“We’re on the road at 5am,” Mr Budd said.

“It just gives us an hour to get into work and in case of crashes which are quite common, especially on the way home.”
