MOTORISTS were trapped in snail’s pace traffic on the M1 for hours after a major accident on the NSW border this morning.

Live Traffic NSW confirmed a truck and ute collided in the southbound lanes around 10.40am just before the Tugun Tunnel.

One of the southbound lanes was closed for nearly three hours with traffic was at a standstill back to the Currumbin off-ramp at 11am.
