Gold Coast traffic: 12 people involved in Elanora car smash, one hospitalised

One person has been hospitalised after 12 people were involved in a two vehicle accident in the city’s south this morning.

ONE person has been hospitalised after 12 people were involved in a two vehicle accident in the city’s south this morning.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to K P McGrath Drive in Elanora just before 10am.

It is understood two vehicles, carrying more than a dozen people, collided near the on ramp onto the M1.

Paramedics assessed 12 people at the scene.

One person had received chest injuries and was transported to Gold Coast University in a stable condition.

Police were on scene conducting traffic control as congestion was building on the busy road.

It is understood the area is no longer congested.

None of the emergency services could confirm what type of vehicles were involved in the smash.
