Gold Coast resort tower carpark ‘flooded’ after car ‘clips sprinklers’

A CARPARK beneath a Gold Coast resort tower has been “flooded” after a car reportedly “clipped” the fire sprinklers, causing mayhem for drivers trying to enter and leave the space.

A CARPARK beneath a Gold Coast resort tower is reported to have been “flooded” after a car “clipped” the fire sprinklers, causing mayhem for drivers trying to enter and leave the underground area.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to a sprinkler activation about 6pm at the Surfers Paradise Hilton Hotel car park after a car was reported to have set the fire sprinklers off after its roof racks hit the sprinklers.

There is reports of extensive damage to the car park however the sprinklers have now been turned off.

The Bulletin has reached out to Hilton Hotel security for comment however calls have gone unanswered.
