Gold Coast M1 accident: Motorcyclist dies after horror crash near Molendinar

A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a car in a horror crash on the M1.

A 35-year-old man from Nerang has died in a horror crash while riding a motorbike on the M1.

Critical care paramedics, the High Acuity Response Unit and the Forensic Crash Unit attended the accident which happened in the southbound lanes at Gaven, near the Smith Street Motorway exit, about 3.15pm on Wednesday afternoon.

The man was riding a motorbike when he collided with a car and was thrown into the path of another car.

The motorbike rider received “multiple serious injuries” and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, a woman in her 20s, was assessed by paramedics and taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the accident or have dashcam footage.
