THE M1 southbound is in gridlock this evening from Stapylton to the Smith Street exit.

No crashes have been reported on the motorway stretch but motorists are experiencing a stop-start drive for about 27km.

Motorists are being warned to expect delays on the M1 this evening.

EARLIER: Emergency services have been flat out today with a string of car crashes across the Gold Coast.

While most have been minor incidents there was a vehicle rollover on the M1 just before 1pm which trapped the car’s occupants and 20 minutes prior to this there was a collision between two trucks and a car at the Hope Island off-ramp southbound.

Seven people flip over rolled vehicle

4PM: Emergency crews are on the scene at Labrador after a three-car crash.

Police, ambos and fire crews got the call to the corner of Government road and Imperial parade just after 4pm.

There was no one trapped or injured in the accident.

2.20PM: Three people have been assessed by paramedics after a two vehicle crash on the corner of Smith St and Kumbari Ave. Two people have been transported in a stable condition to Gold Coast University Hospital. There injuries are believed to be minor.

2PM: A teenage girl has been transported to hospital with abdominal pain after a two vehicle crash at Reedy Creek Rd at Burleigh Heads.

Other occupants of the cars involved in the nose-to-tail incident received minor injuries.

12.50PM: The second crash on the Pacific Motorway southbound near the Coomera offramp involved a single vehicle.

Crews were called just before 1pm after a van rolled into bushland.

It’s understood there were two people trapped but they have since been released and were attended to by paramedics.

The injuries are also yet to be confirmed.

Traffic is flowing on the M1 now after the two incidents but it took an hour to clear.

12.32PM: Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the Hope Island Off ramp after a collision between two trucks and a car.

It is not known what injuries were sustained in the crash.

12.05PM: There was three-car crash on the Gold Coast Highway at Surfers Paradise.

Police and ambulance were called to the Gold Coast Highway near Admiralty Dr.

There were no injuries. All three cars have just been towed from the scene.

11AM: A vehicle hit a cement barrier travelling north near Exit 77 at Worongary on the M1 when it bounced off and hit two other cars.

Paramedics treated two patients on the scene. It is not believed their injuries are serious.

The crash happened about 11am and had closed the left lane, causing minor traffic delays.
