A MALE cyclist is fighting for his life after he collided with a bush turkey while riding a racing bike down a hill in the Currumbin Valley.
The unfortunate crash occurred about 6.20am near the intersection of Tomewin Rd and Currumbin Creek Rd.
Five ambulance crews responded to the serious crash and worked on the male patient for more than an hour.
The 45-year-old man was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with life threatening injuries.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man suffered head injuries as a result of the crash.
