BRISBANE day-trippers enjoying their Ekka public holiday are creating peak-hour traffic chaos on the Gold Coast this afternoon.
Smith St is slow-going as is the M1 northbound between Tugun and Mudgeeraba and then from Arundel to Coomera.
It is also a slow run southbound on the M1 in the usual spots through the Reedy Creek area.
Traffic on the Gold Coast Highway at Southport is barely moving with even side streets jammed as locals compete with visitors to find their way home.
