Two more hit and run incidents reported around Townsville on Thursday night

Townsville’s spate of people fleeing the scenes of crashes has continued, with two more incidents taking place around the city on Thursday night.
Police are investigating after a two vehicle crash was reported at the intersection of Bowen Rd and Cross St, Mundingburra at 10.35pm.
A Queensland Police spokesman said a white Holden Astra was allegedly speeding and ran a red light before colliding with another vehicle.
The Astra’s driver and passenger fled on foot.
Passengers in the other vehicle received minor injuries and didn’t require further treatment.
The Astra wasn’t listed as stolen, and police have called for the owner to come forward.
A bit earlier, Kirwan residents took to social media to report a hit and run on Bamford Lane.
QPS confirmed that a vehicle had left the scene after crashing into a parked car and fence at about 8.40pm.
Witnesses to either of these incidents were urged to contact police.
Emergency services also responded to a bicycle fall on Eyre St, North Ward, where a man in his 50s suffered a knee injury and was taken to Townsville University Hospital, as well as a vehicle fire on Holts Road in Richmond at 8.32pm.
EARLIER: 12-year-old girls injured after stolen car hits school fence
A stolen car filled with people has ploughed into the fence of Heatley State High School, resulting in its two teenage occupants being taken to hospital.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman confirmed that the single vehicle crash took place in Heatley, at the intersection of Fulham Rd and Hanlon St, just before 11am on Thursday.
She said multiple police units and other emergency service crews and members of the public rushed to help.
“Initial investigations indicate, there were five people in the Corolla,” the QPS spokeswoman said.
“Three people fled the scene. Two 12-year-old girls were injured and remained at the scene.
“No other members of the public were injured in the incident.”
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics treated two female teens at the scene.
One had leg and pelvic injuries, while the other sustained a head injury.
They were transported to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition.
Officers from Townsville Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.
Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash or had dashcam footage to come forward.
