A brazen group of adults have been caught on CCTV fleeing in a stolen car after one of them swiped a pack of cigarettes from a Townsville tobacco shop.
The incident unfolded at a tobacco store on Ross River Road in Aitkenvale around 6.30am on Thursday, February 20.
Police say the owner reported a woman had entered the shop and allegedly stole a pack of cigarettes before making a hasty exit.
But she wasn’t alone — outside, CCTV footage captured her jumping into a stolen white Mazda CX-9, where another woman and a mystery man were waiting.
Police said the vehicle was reported stolen from a property at Kelso on Wednesday, February 19.
Police are actively looking to locate the stolen vehicle and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
No one has been charged at this stage.
