A young crash victim has been remembered as a “kind soul” who would “give you the shirt off his back” after he was hit by a car in a horrific crash in the Atherton Tablelands.

Ravenshoe man Lindan Walker, 23, tragically died after being hit by a car travelling eastbound along the Kennedy Highway near Millstream about 5.20am on Friday, March 10.

Police said they are still investigating the circumstances of the crash but initial investigations suggest he had been lying on the road.

Mr Walker has been remembered as a “beautiful young man” by friends and family in an outpouring of tributes online.

A GoFundMe campaign was also recently set up by his aunty Danielle Bean to help their family pay for the 23-year-old’s funeral in the aftermath of the “tragic accident.”

“Lindan was a beautiful young man that didn’t have a bad bone in his body,” she wrote.

“He would do anything for his family and friends he’d even give his shirt off his back if someone was in need of it.

“Lindan was known to the community of Ravenshoe for his kindness and his beautiful smile around the town.

“We just ask what ever you can contribute it will help out a lot.”

The Forensic Crash Unit has appealed to anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage to come forward immediately.

The Kennedy Highway was reopened nine hours after the fatal incident, which happened near the Archer Creek Rest Area.

Millstream is located near Ravenshoe, about 120km southwest of Cairns.
