Townsville’s newest police dog sniffed out two teenagers on his first successful track after just weeks on the job.

TOWNSVILLE police newest recruit has sniffed out two alleged teen criminals in his first successful arrest, just weeks into the job.

Police Dog Uzi and handler Senior Constable David Forrest, along with a number of other police crews were called to a Glamis Court home on Castle Hill to reports of a break-in about 1.30am.

PD Uzi quickly went to work, following the pair’s track around a house, over fences and eventually to where they were hiding in grass in Hampton Court.

An 18-year-old Railway Estate man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and entering a dwelling with intent by break at night in company.

Police dog Uzi tracked down two teenagers who broke into a Castle Hill home on Monday morning.

Another 18-year-old man from West End has also been charged with entering a dwelling with intent by break at night in company, and possessing a knife in public.

They both faced court on Monday.
