Townsville emergency services respond to motorcycle crashes, vehicle rollovers

A man has died and two others injured in three separate motorcycle accidents in North Queensland overnight.
Queensland Ambulance Service said that in the most serious incident, a man in his 60s suffered significant life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle crash on Garland Street in Mount Surprise at 5.13pm on Saturday.
“Sadly, the patient died on scene,” a QAS spokesperson said.
Garland Street is just off the Gulf Development Road inland from Ingham.
A male patient in his 20s was taken to Townsville University Hospital with minor injuries after a motorcycle crash on the corner of Landsborough Street and The Strand in North Ward at 11.24pm on Saturday.
A second man with a hand injury and back pain was also taken to TUH after a motorcycle accident on Ripple Street, Alice River at 5.49pm on Saturday.
QAS said that in addition, a female patient in her teens with neck and back pain was taken to TUH following a single-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway at Cluden at 12.18am on Sunday morning.
Queensland Police Service said a man succumbed to his injuries, meanwhile, after a 4WD rolled on Birra Road, Mornington Island in the Gulf of Carpentaria at 11pm on Saturday.
The 19-year-old Wellesley Islands man was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
“The other occupant, a 19-year-old Gununa man, was transported to the Mornington Island Hospital with minor injuries,” QPS said.
“Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.”
A man in his 40s, meanwhile, was taken to Magnetic Island Hospital with a head injury after a reported fall on rocks at Nelly Bay at 9.04pm on Saturday.
QAS said the man was listed in a stable condition.
EARLIER: Two motorcycle crashes, two vehicle rollovers
Emergency services were kept busy responding to multiple crashes in the Townsville region on Friday night, including two incidents involving motorcycles and two vehicle rollovers.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said a motorcycle crash on Bundock St, Belgian Gardens, was reported at 8.10pm.
A man in his 20s suffered arm and hand injuries and was subsequently transported to Townsville University Hospital (TUH) in a stable condition.
Soon after, paramedics were called to another motorcycle crash on the beach at Alligator Creek at 8.38pm.
A male in his teens had a leg injury and was taken to TUH in a stable condition.
A single-vehicle rollover at the corner of Duckworth Street and Woolcock St was also reported at 7.22pm.
A man in his 30s received a head injury while a female patient sustained minor injuries.
They were in a stable condition when transported by paramedics to TUH.
Another vehicle rolled on Duckworth St, Garbutt, just before 10pm.
Queensland Police confirmed that there were no injuries in the crash, which blocked lanes in all directions before the scene was cleared and reopened at 10.52pm.
