Townsville crime: Teen in custody after officer kicked in groin

A teenager has been taken into custody after allegedly kicking a police officer in the groin and seriously assaulting him during an incident in Townsville’s safe night precinct.

A teenager has been taken into custody after allegedly kicking a police officer in the groin and seriously assaulting him during an incident in Townsville’s safe night precinct.

Police have arrested a 18-year-old man after he allegedly kicked a 32-year-old male police officer in the ground in the Townsville CBD about 4am on Sunday.

The teen was taken into custody at the Townsville watch house and is facing a charge of serious assault police.
