A WOMAN got a rude awakening this morning when a stolen car ploughed into her house after losing control in Wulguru.
Police were called to Edison St about 3.30am where a stolen blue Honda CRV had spun out, crashed through a fence and came to rest leaning against the house on the two left-side wheels.
A 21-year-old woman was inside sleeping at the time, but was uninjured.
District duty officer Senior Sergeant Brett Smith said the car took out some wiring and hit a support pole.
A number of offenders ran off from the crash scene, but none have been charged.
Earlier on Tuesday evening, a Volkswagen Amarok owned by political identity Clynton Hawkes was set on fire in Garbutt.
Mr Hawkes’ car was stolen from his house earlier this week, and was located on fire in Clark St.
Sergeant Smith said police were called to the street at 7.45pm and found the car fully engulfed in flames in the middle of the street.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services attended, along with local residents who tried to extinguish the fire.
The car has since been towed.
