Townsville Police have arrested a boy aged just 13 in relation to a violent robbery and theft of a woman’s vehicle from a shopping centre car-park on Friday night.

Townsville Police have arrested a boy aged just 13 in relation to a violent robbery and theft of a woman’s vehicle from a shopping centre car-park on Friday night.
“Investigations indicate that around 8.12pm, four unknown offenders assaulted a woman in her 50s in a shopping centre car-park on Woolcock Street (in Pimlico),” Queensland Police Service said.
“The four offenders then stole the woman’s white Subaru XV and fled the scene in an unknown direction.”
The victim suffered bruising and lacerations to her face but did not require hospital treatment.
QPS confirmed that the boy had been arrested on Saturday.
“A 13-year-old boy has been charged with unlawful entry of a motor vehicle for committing indictable offence and unlawful use of a motor vehicle,” QPS said.
“The teenager has also been charged with property crime offences relating to alleged unrelated matters.”
A QPS spokesperson said the boy had been remanded in police custody and was scheduled to appear in Townsville Childrens Court on Monday.
QPS said the stolen white Subaru XV was found on Ninth Avenue, Railway Estate early Saturday morning.
“Investigators continue to appeal to anyone who may have relevant information, CCTV or dash-cam vision to contact them,” the spokesperson said.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
