Police are investigating following a surge of ram raids across Townsville

CCTV footage has been released showing the moment a stolen vehicle was used to ram raid businesses across Townsville early Monday and Wednesday morning.

Police have released CCTV footage as investigations continue after three break and enters in the early hours of Wednesday morning, January 8.

It comes following ram raids early Monday morning, which impacted four businesses across Townsville.

Sergeant Jason Milner confirmed a Toyota Prado was used in both occurrences on Monday and Wednesday.

“The same vehicle appears to have been used in both of those series of offences,” he said.

A vehicle reportedly rammed into a business on Ingham Road at 12.51am on Wednesday, fleeing with tobacco products.

It is unknown how many products were stolen.

Later, a Toyota Prado and a Toyota Rav 4 smashed through the front doors of a business on Flinders Street.

Cash, a mobile phone and a laptop were stolen, before the offenders left the scene.

Sgt Milner has confirmed a second business on Flinders Street was impacted and both vehicles were stolen.

“They’re both stolen vehicles, the LandCruiser was stolen early on Monday morning and the Rav 4 was stolen shortly after,” he said.

“The Rav 4 was located earlier this morning at West End. The Toyota LandCruiser is still outstanding.”

Police are still calling for CCTV and dashcam footage to assist them with investigations.
