Peak hour traffic disrupted by crash on Lowths Bridge in Townsville CBD

Peak hour traffic needed to be diverted after a two vehicle crash on a bridge near the Townsville CBD on Tuesday evening.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the nose-to-tail crash was reported just before 5pm on the outbound lane of Lowths Bridge, which connects Stanley St and Rooney St.

Police blocked off access to the bridge while paramedics rendered assistance to two patients.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed that a male had suffered minor head injuries.

The road was reopened just before 6pm.
