The restaurants in a new luxury hotel being developed in Townsville will raise the bar on world-class dining in North Queensland, the Morris Group says.

The group is developing the five-star $88m Ardo hotel next door to The Ville Resort-Casino, which it also owns, in the Breakwater precinct.

They have revealed details about the mouth-watering restaurants and bars which will be delivered and have opened expressions of interest for the 180 jobs on offer in the new hotel.

Construction of the seven-level hotel, being built by Prime Constructions and designed by architects Dubois, is well advanced with concrete pours for its rooftop bar, restaurant and infinity pool under way.

A premium steak and seafood restaurant, called Marmor, and the Ardo Rooftop bar will have magnificent views from the top level over the Townsville seafront as you feast on seafood and sip on a CBCO Pale Ale.

A modern Japanese restaurant called Terasu will trade on the ground floor.

The tourism group says the Marmor name draws on a concept of connecting the land and sea, while Terasu means to illuminate and is inspired by the lights of Tokyo.

Ardo is derived from the word “ardour” meaning “great enthusiasm or passion”.

Morris Group Executive Chairman Chris Morris said the venues would raise the bar for world-class dining in North Queensland.

“The Ville has already set the tone for premium dining in the region with the likes of the award-winning Miss Songs and Quarterdeck but these new venues at Ardo will take it to a whole other level,” Mr Morris said.

“Marmor, Terasu and Ardo Rooftop will give guests the opportunity to experience a side of North Queensland that they’ve never seen before – the epitome of luxury on an international standard in a place like no other.”

“We’re looking for the people who will essentially bring Ardo to life, so we’re after people who share our passion for delivering exceptional service and Ardo’s uniquely North Queensland brand of luxury to our guests,” Mr Jones said.

“There will be key roles available in all departments including hotel, culinary, food and beverage, housekeeping, and more.

“What’s most exciting is that this new team will be part of something truly momentous, playing a vital role in the opening of a brand new luxury hotel in an iconic location.”
