Mary Fowler and Nathan Cleary have been spotted in Bowen posing with the Big Mango, proving to suffering teens on family road trips everywhere that it’s actually cool to stop for a picture.
The Bowen Tourism team said the Matildas soccer star and her NRL boyfriend stopped at the Big Mango on Monday as they road tripped up to FNQ.
Visitor services co-ordinator Glenn Burling said the Big Mango has been flat out with visitors since Christmas.
“We’re averaging 300 people a day,” she said.
“It’s mostly a mixture of people heading up to Townsville for Christmas, or Townsville people going south.”
While the Big Mango is no stranger to minor and major celebrities alike, Mr Burling said Fowler and Cleary made an impact.
“When they walked in, absolutely everyone recognised them and they were happy to take a picture,” she said.
