A man was rushed to hospital with burns as multiple fire crews worked to extinguish a large house fire in Townsville on Sunday night.

Emergency services were called to a large house fire along Nathan St in Vincent, just after 8pm.

The Queensland Fire Department said crews arrived on the scene to find the two-storey home fully engulfed.

Queensland Ambulance released a statement on Monday saying that paramedics assessed a male patient who suffered minor burns.

He was transported to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition.

There were six fire crews still on scene at the fire, working to extinguish the blaze at 8.50pm.

Paramedics remained on standby for fellow emergency services.

According to police, early indications were that the fire was non-suspicious but an investigation into the blaze was ongoing.
