Krispy Kreme have revealed new details ahead of the official opening of their Townsville drive-through store on May 2.

The North Queensland store - located on Market Street in Burdell - will mark the franchise’s eighth Queensland location, and brings the iconic Hot Light experience to the region.

Krispy Kreme Australia marketing director Aimee Cutajar said the Hot Lights would also bring a sweet surprise to Townsville.

“We’ve heard from locals who’ve been asking for their very own store, and we’re beyond excited to finally bring the Hot Light experience to the region,” she said.

“If you spot the Hot Light on between 5pm to 8pm daily, you can redeem a free original glazed doughnut with purchase.”

The Krispy Kreme Grand Opening party will begin at 7:30am on Friday, May 2, and locals can expect more than 4,800 free original glazed doughnuts, live music and frequent giveaways.

Krispy Kreme Townsville store manager Brandon Ballard said the new store had opened more than 70 new job opportunities across the region.

“We’re building an incredible team here in Townsville and can’t wait to serve up smiles and fresh doughnuts to our friends and neighbours,” he said.
