A locally owned perfume store, Parfumerie Enchante, has reopened after a devastating robbery in May which saw nearly $30,000 in perfume and jewellery allegedly stolen.
Rachel Hobson had opened the perfume store in April, and was trading part-time for just one month before the robbery brought her business to a screeching halt.
Despite the big hit, Ms Hobson said she’s determined to carry on helping people find their signature scents.
“I started the Parfumerie because of how much I truly love it,” Ms Hobson said.
“After only a month trading, it was hard to consider the dream squashed for good. Something in me just knew I had to try again.”
Ms Hobson said there was something “truly special” about fragrance, and helping people find their signature scent or the perfect gift.
“With the demand still strong and our love for what we do, it just felt like the right time to reopen and welcome everyone back through our doors.”
Ms Hobson said it felt like there was a “buzz” in the air, and she’s been busy curating new stock and fixing the store.
“Parfumerie Enchante is Townsville’s only boutique dedicated entirely to rare and luxurious fragrances,” she said.
“This is a rare opportunity to try and purchase these scents, with Parfumerie Enchante the only stockist north of Brisbane.”
The rare fragrances stocked in the Pimlico store include Xerjoff, Parfums de Marly, Montale, Mancera, Initio - and recently the collection expanded to include Casamorati.
The store is open Wednesday 10am-2pm, Thursday 10am to 7pm, Friday 10am to 2pm, and Saturday 10am to 3pm at 2/52 French St, Pimlico.
