The former manager of the Mad Cow Tavern, who was recently dismissed due to his role in a viral social media video, has appeared in court charged with drug possession and unlawful supply of cocaine.
Deacon Phillip Powell was allegedly caught with the drug after police grew suspicious when he entered a toilet while on a night out at Molly Malones Irish Pub on Flinders St on November 16 last year.
Powell recently made headlines after a video went viral on social media in which he and two other Mad Cow Tavern employees made jokes about rape and race. All three were dismissed.
His charges were mentioned in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He is yet to enter a plea.
