Bruce Highway crash near Bluewater between car and truck now cleared

A motorist has been taken to hospital after a crash between a car and a truck on the Bruce Highway.

UPDATE: A driver has been taken to hospital in a stable condition after a truck and car crash this morning.

Queensland Ambulance Service took the motorist to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition about 10.34am.

Both directions of the Bruce Highway are now cleared.

BREAKING: EMERGENCY crews have rushed to the scene of a crash between a car and a truck on the Bruce Highway north of Townsville.

About 9.50am, police and paramedics were called to a stretch of the highway near Bluewater to reports a car had rolled into the path of a B-double truck.

It is understood the front wheel of the vehicle came off, causing it to roll onto the opposite side of the road.

A Queensland Police spokesman said the driver of the vehicle was out of the car, and being assessed by paramedics.

The driver of the truck was also conscious and breathing.

Police and paramedics are on the scene.

The southbound lane of the Bruce Highway has been temporarily closed to clear debris.
