HOLLYWOOD star Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson have left the Gold Coast by private jet after their coronavirus ordeal.
Hanks and Wilson were admitted to Gold Coast University Hospital on March 12 after being diagnosed with COVID-19.
They were on the Gold Coast filming Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic, in which Hanks will star as Presley’s manager Colonel Tom Parker.
The couple spent several days in hospital before going into isolation, believed to be at former motorcycle world champion Mick Doohan’s secluded waterfront mansion at Coomera.
Hanks and Wilson finished their isolation on Thursday and flew home to the US in one of Doohan’s private jets late Friday afternoon.
Hanks shared his coronavirus isolation experiences with his 16.5 million Twitter followed, including a pic of thickly-smeared Vegemite on toast next to a toy kangaroo draped in an Aussie flag.
