The Star Gold Coast unveils The Darling luxury hotel with star-studded party

The first of two much-anticipated back-to-back launch parties have seen the birth of a new Star in Broadbeach - check out tonight’s The Darling launch action at The Star Gold Coast.

A NEW Gold Coast Star has been born with the high-profile launch of The Darling luxury hotel.

The 17-storey centrepiece of The Star Gold Coast’s megabucks transformation in Broadbeach opened last night, showcasing 57 sumtuous suites.

The boutique rooms are 70 square metres to 328.

Glamourous TV presenter Laura Csortan was among guests and earlier given a preview of The Darling rooftop’s infinity pool.

Others included Olympic swimming champions Brooke Hanson and Ian Thorpe, Federal Minister Steven Ciobo, State Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and actor Lincoln Lewis.

Star CEO Matt Bekier told guests: “The reason why we are building something so extravagant as this is because we are big believers in the Gold Coast.”

The opening marks the first of much-anticipated back-to-back parties at The Star Gold Coast.

Tomorrow night sees The Star unveil The Darling’s rooftop bar lounge and restaurant Nineteen, a partnership with Gold Coast hospitality rock stars Billy Cross and Simon Gloftis.

Earlier this week, the Gold Coast City Council planning committee gave first-stage approval to The Star’s megaplan for the site which includes four addtional towers. The multi-billion dollar plan goes before the full council for consideration tomorrow.
