Townsville’s newest Strand hospitality venture has officially thrown open its doors to show off the eye-catching results of its extensive renovations.

Formerly known as the Anelay Rooftop Bar and Restaurant at 70 The Strand, the venue reopened on July 2 under the new name The Beach Hotel after its purchase by the Kickon Group settled in late May.

Delighted to open the hotel just in time for Townsville’s busy Supercars weekend, The Beach Hotel’s part-owner Bart Furst was keen to show off the venue’s changes following a four-week renovation process.

Costing over $250,000, the renovations were supported by local suppliers, from the artwork and plants to the tiles used on the bar, to create an inviting space where people could unwind and relax.

Outside, there’s been fresh signage and furniture added, while in the downstairs area, there was a widened entrance, with the previous prep kitchen island replaced by a reorientated L-shaped bar and seating for 84, with views into the kitchen.

Upstairs, a stunning space with a pastel colour scheme showcases the beauty of Townsville, with breathtaking views over the Strand and beyond to Cleveland Bay and Magnetic Island.

The hotel is adorned with lush plants and features artwork by local artist Tina Maher.

Mr Furst wanted to see The Beach Hotel become a go-to hotspot for locals and visitors wanting good food, good times, and a welcoming atmosphere.

“We’re excited to welcome everyone to The Beach Hotel (which) is all about providing a great space where people can unwind after a long day or celebrate a milestone,” Mr Furst said.

“We’ve already received amazing feedback from our patrons and are looking forward to celebrating with them in some of the big events we have lined up in the near future.”

Bargain hunting foodies will have two weekly specials to keep in mind with Local’s Day on Tuesdays with $19 buying barramundi and fries, schnitzel and fries, or pappardelle Bolognese, and Wednesday’s Burger Night offering a choice of three burgers for only $15.

The Beach Hotel will showcase all major sporting events, including State of Origin Game 3, live and loud on the big screens, and looks forward to exciting future events like the Melbourne Cup.

Locals were also encouraged to celebrate their special occasions with fantastic function packages available.
