DRIVEN TO DESPAIR:

A SEVERELY disabled Gold Coast child is repeatedly being left roadside because a taxpayer-paid taxi company won’t pick him up.

Young Samuel Amiet has been left stranded waiting for a cab dozens of times in the past year.

The nine-year-old suffers from cerebral palsy, CRMCC syndrome, epilepsy, ASD, Perthes Disease and gastrostomy. He is in a wheelchair, cannot talk and is fed through a tube.

AND IN SPORT …

TEENAGE sensation Tom Dearden is shaping as the major beneficiary of Kodi Nikorima’s potential Broncos exit, with a possible NRL baptism looming for the 18-year-old Palm Beach Currumbin product on Thursday night.

Rumours are circulating Kiwi Test playmaker Nikorima could be offloaded to the New Zealand Warriors as early as today, opening the door for Dearden to debut against South Sydney at Suncorp Stadium in two days’ time.
