Local surfing legend Mick Fanning has shaken off the drama of a run-in with an alleged stalker to ask his model girlfriend a special question … while also revealing some other exciting news.

LOCAL world champion surfing legend Mick Fanning has shaken off a run-in with an alleged stalker to propose to his girlfriend and reveal she is pregnant.

Fanning surprised his American model girlfriend Breeana Randall yesterday by getting down on one knee and popping the question during a photo shoot for their baby announcement.

The former ASP World Tour champion announced the happy news to his 1.2 million Instagram followers with a sweet photo of the moment he asked the soon-to-be mother of his child to marry him.

“Yesterday was one of those incredible days,” he captioned the photo of him on bended knee with dog Harper looking on.

“ (Breeana) and I went to shoot some baby announcement photos and then this happened.

“This beautiful woman has stolen my heart and I’m so excited to create a beautiful family with her.

“So excited to start this new chapter with a person I truly admire and love. Breeana and Harper and new little one this is going to be magical.”

Mick let his fans know the happy news with an Instagram post.

The couple went public with their relationship in late November of 2017 almost two years after Fanning announced his split from wife Karissa Dalton.

Ms Randall, who has done some part-time modelling work in America, studied to be a speech-language pathologist at Chapman University.

During her studies she spent time doing humanitarian work in the Philippines.

Their baby is due in August.
