STACEY Panozzo is usually busy getting her hands dirty as she works away in the garden — but not on March 8.
The president of Gold Coast Green Living and organiser of garden expo Botanical Bazaar will be joining 23 other women as finalists for Gold Coast Women on the Year at The Star for a gala lunch on International Women’s Day.

Yesterday, Ms Panozzo exchanged her garden overalls for a dress as she took part in a photo shoot for the competition.

The finalists were styled by Oscar Oscar salons and got their hair, makeup and nails done.
“It was awesome,” she said.
“I just wish I had somewhere to go to in the dress, I had to turn into a school mum and the dress came off … I don’t often glam up.”

Ms Panozzo said she was chuffed to have been picked as a finalist and hoped she could inspire the next generation when it came to plants.

“I hope they have a greener and healthier lifestyle, it sounds cliche but it’s something the next generation … are asking, ‘how do you compost? What do I do?’,” she said.
“It’s important to help people learn.”
