Women don’t shout about their achievements, which is why the Gold Coast Women of the Year Awards is very important, writes Bulletin editor Rachel Hancock.

Every day in these pages, the Gold Coast Bulletin strives to recognise and celebrate the amazing people and their stories that make the Gold Coast such an incredible place to live.

That is why the Bulletin is proud to bring this exciting initiative to life, the Harvey Norman Gold Coast Women of the Year awards.

Over the next five weeks, we will bring you some of the untold stories of women achieving amazing things, often without seeking or demanding any recognition.

From the women behind the scenes helping our young athletes excel, to the selfless angels working tirelessly behind the scenes to make the community a better place, we want to share these stories – and say thank you for everything you do.

NOMINATE HERE FOR GOLD COAST WOMEN OF THE YEAR

Often, women don’t shout out their achievements but instead go about their work and simply get on with it.

These awards are about recognising and celebrating the innovative women who are making a difference to our city.

I encourage you all to nominate, either yourself or someone you know, and ladies I look forward to sharing your stories with our readers.
