JASMINE Robson rarely takes no for an answer.
A titan of the adult entertainment industry, Ms Robson has used her street smarts to grow her unique empire for more than a decade.
While the Gold Coast Woman of the Year nominee says breasts have been a secret ingredient in her recipe for success, it is her dedication to her employees that had given her businesses their longevity.
As a business student working in hospitality in the early 2000s Ms Robson noticed the popularity of a topless waitress group that came into the venue for a few hours once a week.
“The pub went from a couple of blokes to becoming packed,” she said.
Like any good entrepreneur, she saw an opportunity.
“I thought, ‘well why don’t we offer that all the time?’”
In 2007 Ms Robson did just that, launching her first topless bar in the mining town of Mackay.
HOW EDUCATION IS SAVING SENIOR’S LIVES
Ten years later she is the managing director of several multimillion-dollar companies and three adult entertainment venues across Queensland, including the Grosvenor in Brisbane.
Ms Robson has also launched an industry freelancer app called PeachE, which operates on a peer-to-peer model for entertainers and clients.
The app also includes a number of safety features including a rating system.
“I am not naive to the fact that there would be certain segments of the population who would see it as the opposite of empowering women, but they are usually the ones that have never been in our venues or talked to the employees,” she said.

“We have been attacked on several occasions by people claiming to be feminists, but my thing is if it doesn’t hurt anyone why is it a problem?
“A true feminist is not someone who is putting another female down for her choices,” she said.

Ms Robson said she did not consider herself a feminist. Instead she identified herself as a humanist.
“I really don’t care what sex people identify with, as long as you are a good person.”
The adult entertainment industry is not all of Ms Robson’s portfolio.
She is also earns at least six figures annually through her network marketing groups and spends time as a mentor and trainer for those moving out of the industry.
“Literally, thousands of women have worked for me over the decade and I am passionate about empowering these women financially.
“A man is not a financial plan, so I help work on helping them set themselves up to earn an outside income, while in the industry.”
By next year Ms Robson hopes to have relocated the Brisbane’s Grosvenor to make it the biggest adult entertainment venue in the country.
“Don’t let anybody tell you you can’t do something.
“That is all I heard in pretty much everything I have ever done, and it has all worked out.”
“I would also recommend you don’t take advice from someone you wouldn’t swap lives with.
“Usually the biggest naysayers are the ones who aren’t really living their best life anyway.”
