THIS Gold Coast woman has just opened up her fifth health business in the past seven years — and it won’t be her last either.
Which is probably why Runaway Bay resident and pharmacist Amy Ford was nominated for Women of the Year under the entrepreneur category.
Ms Ford said she had always loved the health profession, so being able to run three pharmacies on the northern Coast and two allied health businesses was a challenge she relished.
“Being at the heart of the community, I wanted to provide a good health service to customers,” she said.

“It’s a juggling act. I just jam it all in — and I have a good husband. I think we just have to make it happen. I’m not regimented … we have to be flexible when we’ve got so much on our plate.”
Ms Ford is also mother to an 11-month-old and 22-month-old child, as well as being a Rotarian.

She said she also had plans to open up a sixth business next year.
The Gold Coast Bulletin’s Women of the Year initiative is designed to honour the women who have helped build and nurture this city.
A shortlist of 24 women will be selected on January 12, nominated for categories focused on sport, charity, entrepreneurship and more.
A judging panel led by Harvey Norman CEO Katie Page and featuring a number of high profile judges will select the winners, with an awards ceremony on International Women’s Day and a special magazine released in celebration.
