WHO are the most influential people in Gold Coast sport? The Bulletin has scoured every sport to come up with a Power 50, ranking those who have an impact here in our city.

Today, we look at numbers 30-21 - a section of the list that includes the likes of Courtney Hancock.

30. COURTNEY HANCOCK

The face of women’s surf lifesaving, Hancock has not only been a consistent contender for titles since making her professional debut in 2006 but has proven herself to be a top role model for next generation athletes.

29. DAMIEN BRESIC

The head honcho of the world game locally, Bresic is general manager of Football Gold Coast.

Football has a massive participation base across the city and provides a high quality Premier League, which can offer up homegrown talent for an A-League return one day.

One to watch; quickly rising up the ranks on the Gold Coast as Titans executive chairman. Brings to Parkwood extensive insights, having previously acted as chairman at the powerful Brisbane Broncos.

27. JAMIE WHINCUP

The Gold Coaster has established himself as the greatest ever Supercars driver, now boasting a record seven championships plus the most race wins in history.

Often a maligned figure but the fact of the matter is the 34-year-old remains Australia’s only grand slam tennis champion of the past 16 years courtesy of her 2011 US Open triumph. Has a global presence given her prolonged success on the tour.

Long-time president of the Gold Coast Dolphins club that has nurtured a number of state and Test cricketers over the years.

Played a major role in bringing three Big Bash League matches to Metricon Stadium this summer.

24. RYAN JAMES

Bilambil Jets junior who has blossomed into an excellent role model at the Titans. The Gold Coast captain is on the cusp of State of Origin selection for NSW and is rapidly heading towards becoming the Titans’ most-capped player.
