The Bulletin asked psychic Nikki Astarya, from Chameleon New Age Salon, on what the city will look like post-COVID-19 as the world enters unknown territory.

Her early predictions envision the light rail will continue with it’s original route, heading south through Palm Beach. She did not have a date the Queensland border would reopen.

“With the light rail I feel the funding is there and the government will push it ahead to create jobs. (Especially) while it’s quiet without tourists,” she said.

“In regards to the borders - nothing will change while state premiers are butting heads.

“The decision will eventually come from federal government.

“They will step in and make a decision for the greater good.”

Ms Astarya, who sees on average about 50 people four days a week, provided eight pages of predictions she believes will ring true in the next decade.

She says she has correctly forecast numerous happenings in her 20 years in the spiritual world and believes the Gold Coast will experience major change and controversy.

PROJECTS

There will be a cruise ship port.

I do feel like it will be at The Spit. This won’t come easy.

There will be protests that will involve an environmental impact report that will lead to the dock being built in an eco-friendly way to support all aspects needed for the success of this build.

This will bring many jobs to the Gold Coast and there will be a second casino built with an emphasis on entertainment (with) two theatres and a big outdoor arena. This space will also include a Michelin Star restaurant with an Aussie chef who has spent time overseas.

TOURISM

After another 18 months of restriction and limitation around the travel industry due to impacts of COVID-19, the Gold Coast will see a big boom in tourism.

People will be within Australia more conscious with travel and will see the Gold Coast as a fun, adventurous and safe destination.

There will be a takeover of the theme parks by an overseas investor who will bring our theme parks to an international standard.

All parks will be overhauled, and the biggest rollercoaster rides in the Southern Hemisphere built here.

Sea World will be seen and recognised as a more environmental and eco-conscious park that will support research and information regarding the impacts of environment changes for southern ocean animals. This research will lead to helping reduce the impact of global warming for the animals of the Antarctic region.

WITHIN THE NEXT THREE YEARS

The Gold Coast will see a major boom in the movie and TV industry.

Movie World will double at least the size of their studios due to the major shift overseas.

Within the movie industry many directors, producers and moviemakers will choose to make their movies here.

Out of the Gold Coast will come an Australian top-rated TV series.

This will be a fantasy-based series — think Game of Thrones — that will run for six years.

This series will have a female lead that will be relatively unknown at the beginning of this series but will achieve international success. She is a brunette Australian woman.

2024-2025

Will see a major change in the political arena after a controversial inquiry into a local government.

By 2025 there will be a female mayor who will be focused on rebuilding all areas of Gold Coast tourism including overhauling Surfers Paradise and bringing it back to its Glitter Strip glory days.

The Gold Coast Hinterland will see a massive growth in population leading to at least six new schools being built.

Infrastructure will be a major focus, in particular in the north western region of the Gold Coast.

2026

There will be a shift in consciousness with people becoming more focused on wellbeing — psychically, mentally and spiritually.

It will build an amazing reputation for success in turning people’s lives around from abuse, anxiety and drug addiction.

2027

Major shift in the justice system.

Three higher judges will leave the Gold Coast justice system after an inquiry.

Gold Coast University Hospital will discover a medical revolution in reconstructive cell medicine with an emphasis of conditions such as MS and motor neurone disease. There will also be a discovery at the GCUH into the causes of dementia.

2028

A major sporting event will take place on the Gold Coast. Not the Olympic or Commonwealth Games, but a new platform of sporting and events that will have an influx of surfing, skateboarding, gymnastics, football and netball.

It will grow into a week-long event with an international televised platform.
