THE new $15 million Robina City Parklands will become a major community hub in the city’s centre, with plans to hold concerts and events there.
As revealed by the Gold Coast Bulletin yesterday, ground will break on the 17ha parkland this year and will include a 5000-seat village green space, as well as fishing spots, walking trails, sporting fields and a cafe.
GOLDEN AGE: THE SPIT COULD BE COAST’S CENTRAL PARK
Area councillor and city lifestyle boss Cr Hermann Vorster said the parklands would help “activate” the area around the stadium as an events space before and after Gold Coast Titans games.
“This is going to be a magnet for people who cheer the Titans on at the stadium and it is no mistake that the showcase park is called the village green — it is a hub for the community to gather in big numbers,” he said.
